A Moneybase account can be opened in the name of a minor.
This will be subject to the consent of either the minor’s parents or the minor’s guardian/s, as applicable.
Once active, the minor’s parent/guardian will have the power to manage the account on behalf of the minor until the attainment of his/her 16th birthday (or until the minor’s emancipation). Upon the minor attaining 16 years of age (or having been emancipated), the minor (now the adult) will benefit from the exclusive right to manage his/her account as the parents'/guardians' authority over the account will automatically cease to apply. The account holder may avail from payment services including free Sepa transfers and the use of the Moneybase card, and any associated rewards.
Kindly note that online trading functionality will be automatically activated when the account owner turns 18 in line with current legislation.
If you are a legal guardian, and would like to proceed with opening a minor account, kindly send us an email on [email protected] and we will guide you accordingly.
